Her photos and writings have appeared in such publications as: The New York Times, Texas Monthly, LA Weekly, Houston Chronicle, Houston Press, Stance magazine, Creative Screenwriting magazine and Back Stage West. Her short stories have been published in Analecta Literary and Arts Journal.

BIO

Born in New York City, Cressandra Thibodeaux moved to Houston in 1981 and attended the High School for Performing and Visual Arts, majoring in dance. She studied during her summers at the San Francisco Ballet School, toured with Texas Ballet and received a full-scholarship to attend the University of Texas, where she received a B.F.A. in English and minor in dance. In 1997, Ms. Thibodeaux received her M.F.A. from Columbia University’s film program. She soon became an award-winning filmmakers. In 2013, she created the 14 Pews Film Academy, which teaches filmmaking to at-risk-teens while highlighting local Houston artists. In addition, she has taught screenwriting at Rice University’s Glasscock School of Continuing Studies and playwriting at Heights High School and The Joy School through the Alley Theater. Her mixed-media series OIL ON WATER was accepted into a satellite art show at Art Basel in Basel Switzerland, the top contemporary art show in the World. Presently, Ms. Thibodeaux is working on her new photography show "My Box Series" which opens August 4, 2018 at G-Spot Contemporary Art Gallery in Houston, Texas.
